Ms. Marvel Trailer Review and Reaction

Updated: Jan 24

In this video or blog, I will be reviewing and reacting to Ms. Marvel trailer that is coming out in June. If you want to know more, then you want to watch this video or read this blog.

Hello everyone, Matthew Hemenway Here. I am back. I just saw the trailer for Ms. Marvel, and it looks awesome. It shows the teenage angst that all teenagers experience. It has her questioning that she is a superhero or not. What I know is that I felt it at her age. I had questions and those questions do not leave as you get older.

She is with her guidance counselor asking what she wants to do for her life. She asks do I have to figure it out now. Believe me, I understand. I thought I had it figured out then, but I realize that I do not. I get what is going on. It took me a while to realize that I love doing these videos and creating. I like writing these videos out as well as reviewing and analyzing texts.

There are those that are questioning her purpose and she falls into the trap that every hero goes through that she cannot do these things. Especially not a brown girl from Jersey City. That is impossible. That is far from the truth. Heroes come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. They do not have to be a white, blonde male or female.

It did a particularly excellent job of showing the viewer the mosque like in the comics. As the viewer knows, she is Muslim. You can check out my Ms. Marvel Generation Why Volume 2 Review. I did this review back in November and I enjoyed that comic/graphic novel. I thought it was well done and will leave a link in the description below to that review.

She is trying on costumes and looks and it shows the power in her hands. If anyone that has read the comics or seen the TV shows or the cartoon movie Secret Warriors. Ms. Marvel is in it and in that movie, it flashed back to her struggling to embrace her powers. She can look like Captain Marvel if she wants to. She can shape shift as well as change her size for any situation that she needs to.

The end of the trailer has her wearing the costume and I liked the fact that it showed her back and not have the viewer seeing what it would look like yet. You see the front for a brief second and that was well done. If anyone thinks it is bad, then I would disagree with you. Having some mystery to it, is a good thing.

I look forward to watching this series and reviewing it later when it comes out in June on Disney+. It looks like it is going to be awesome.
