Hello everyone, this is Matthew Hemenway. In this video, I will be reviewing and analyzing Better Nate than Ever that is currently on Disney+. I will go over several topics in this video and let you know if this movie is worth watching. Now on with the video.

The movie starts off with the song sung by George Benson on Broadway. As my brother says, it is 1 of his most famous songs. It is a good song as it says I am walking down the street with not enough to eat and no one there to shine your shoes. Look at me playing this guitar. It has the right beat and the right tone since this kid does not want to act in a play he wants to be in a musical. He is extremely talented, this kid can sing, and I love this kid. This kid is fun to watch. I love the fact at the beginning of the movie that he put on his bathrobe and was walking down with confidence. As he told his best friend Libby, are you nervous? She told him no as she loves the theater but acting on stage is not her. She has another skill set which is revealed later in the movie.

Nate wanted this part in a play Lincoln the Rock musical but did not get it. I could understand why he is not tall enough to play Lincoln. This Lincoln is no other but Abraham Lincoln. The director tells him this is a leading role and feels he is not ready to deal with it. As Nate says, it is hard to get a leading role when no one gives you a chance. This is true, if no one gives you a chance, how do you get a chance to shine. I get it, when I decided to make this channel of Matthew Hemenway into a serious channel, it took a while before people gave me a chance. I also know that there will be times when videos will start off slow but pick up later and some videos never pick up. No matter who we are, we must do our best. Before that, Nate had his lucky rabbit foot taken by the big kid. He called him a girl, as Nate said how original. Jimmy took his rabbit's foot.

Libby tells Nate that they need to go to New York and tells him, we always talk about running away and going to New York someday. Nate tells Libby, my mom does not even let me even go Rite Aid alone. People may think there are no Rite Aid stores anymore. They still exist in the Midwest. You may ask, it is not Pittsburgh, PA in the east. It is in the western part of PA, and it is on that line of being in the Midwest. Nate is hesitant at first to do this, but he gains some courage later.

His parents tell him and his brother Anthony, they will be going to West Virginia to have a vacation alone without their kids. Anthony says, I am not watching Nate. Nate says I can stay at Libby’s house. Anthony tells them, you would never late me stay at a girl’s house after their mother says, can you? The dad says, you are not Nate, Nate is different. This tells me that they know Nate would not get a girl pregnant and later say to the parents, I got a girl pregnant, and I am going to be father.

Nate goes to Libby’s house, and this gives them the chance they need to sneak off to go to this Broadway rehearsal. They take a bus to get to New York. They get to New York, and they are in line to try out for the musical. This musical has 1 rule, each kid under 18, must have a parent or guardian present, no exceptions. If you are allergic to Macedonian nuts, Hawaii big subplot.

Nate and Libby run into his aunt. Nate realizes that she will turn him into his mom. He tells his aunt Libby’s phone number. Libby does not answer. Nate gets back in the audition and does not turn out well. His aunt tries to send him back to Pittsburgh, but Nate gets off the bus and goes back to the audition.

The movie keeps being an adventure for him to get this part. He must sing in Times Square to get money to buy a phone charger. He sneaks into the Natural Museum of history to get back to his aunt. He is partying with kids. He is seen on Tik Tok, and it becomes another adventure.

It is 1 test to another, but Nate has the determination and the skill to do this. As his aunt says, he is more talented than I am, and she is talented. Anthony later tells Nate; he is not an embarrassment to him. Anthony is a talented runner, and he understands the pressure and why this is important. It takes him a while, but he gets it.

As not spoil the ending, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this story.

Answer these questions in the comment section below, does Nate get this part or not? Does Libby find out what she is good at? Does Nate’s aunt and mother reconcile with each other? What Disney movie is made in a Broadway musical in this story?

I give this story a 10 out of 10. I thought it was well done and I love the kid Ruby Wood who plays Nate. I have a feeling this kid has a bright future. He should be in theory. This story was fun, and every song was fun to hear or sing as well. I love the soundtrack to Better Nate than Ever. I love hearing the songs and listening to the music they use for scenes in the music when there is no singing. I wish I could sing like this kid, but unfortunately, I did not gain that skill set.
