Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12 which is called the Outpost. I will go over several topics and point out several Easter Eggs in this episode of the Mattacritic. This episode will deal with the Crosshairs going to an Ice Planet like Hoth and he must work with this Lieutenant who is a pain to say the least. This episode will only be with Crosshairs and not the rest of the Bad Batch with Omega. I will give you my rating at the end of the review.

Crosshairs must go with this Lieutenant who is a pain to say the least. He is arrogant and pushy and thinks he knows everything. He does not care what happens to these soldiers if they serve their purpose. He is one of those people that believes people should be used as tools and not considered as people. These soldiers are clones, but they are still human beings and should be treated as such. Especially in a government like the Empire, the Empire does not care what happens to you if you do what they want you to do. It is an unfortunate reality, but that reality exists, nevertheless.
They get to this planet that is like Hoth, that is an ice world. Hoth was the first planet in the Star Wars universe that was made of ice and the first time it appeared was in the Empire Strikes Back. I will leave a link in the description below to watch that movie. It would be hard to survive on a planet like that. They are vultures flying around. Mayday who was the commander of the clone Troppers that were there tells Crosshairs and the Lieutenant that most of his men are dead expect for two of them. He requested more Troppers some time ago, but his request was ignored or denied. In this case, pick one, either of these things is unfortunate. Mayday told Crosshairs that Vultures fly around and pick off the dead. That is accurate to Vultures in real life. Vultures are scavengers and are not hunters. They do not kill their prey; they pick off their flesh of their dead carcasses. This is the nature of Vultures.
Crosshairs and Mayday must go after Raiders which have been stealing the crates. The crates have been stolen and have valuables in them. The Lieutenant is arrogant and wants them to get the crates at all costs even the cost of their lives. It does not matter to him if this is done. As was stated in the beginning of this episode, the clone Troppers are being forced into retirement, and as they point out they are soldiers, and this is all they know. As was stated in the two-part release of episodes 7 and 8, which I have reviewed on this channel; the clone Troppers are being phased out to come out with the Imperial Stormtroopers. This will be their fate.
As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the episode and sets up episode 13.
I will give you, my rating. I give Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 12, a 10 out 10. It was fun but showed the nature of the Empire. The Empire only considers the cloned Troppers to be nothing more than tools and not people. It shows Crosshairs to be more than just a cold-blooded killer. He will do something the viewer would not expect him to do. He shows he cares, and it will open his eyes to the Empire. The episode will show that, and I do not want to reveal too much here. You will want to watch this episode and it will help you understand. It would have been nice to see the Bad Batch and Omega here, but it would not have worked in the story; they were trying to tell in this episode. It was important to do, and the viewer will see a character that was in the last episode. The viewer will just have to look very carefully and remember what he/she saw in the last episode. Thank you.
