In this episode of Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 10 that is currently on Disney+ done by Lucasfilm. The name of this episode is called Retrieval. I will go over several topics and point out several Easter eggs in this episode. I hope this episode inspires to Read, Watch, and Learn. This episode will deal with the team losing their ship and will have to figure out how to get it back. It was taken by a thief that stole their ship and that thief was a kid in the previous episode. I will give you my rating at the end of the review.
Please consider checking out my Facebook page to get links and check out the posts from YouTube, and Patreon. I have been posting links to my blog on my Facebook page, that you would want to check out at www.mattacritic.com/blog. The blog will have the written portion of the review as well as the YouTube video included there. Now on with the review.
As I told you before, the name of the episode is called Retrieval. This title fits as the Bad Batch along with Omega must retrieve their ship that has been stolen by a thief. The thief is a kid who believes he stole the ship from a bunch of amateurs. The kid is being used by this con artist who has these kids believing that they are making sacrifices to this guy who exploits them to maintain his wealth and power. This guy’s name is Mokko. There are people who like this guy in this story who exists in the real world. They use people like these kids to get what they want. They claim that it is for the greater good, but in reality; they are getting rich while these kids are used to mine this mineral that is valuable and explosive in nature which is called Episyeum.
The Bad Batch with Omega are at the space station that has been abandoned and they are having to fix a speeder so they can get it repaired and operational. Omega realizes that Gonky should still be operational and that he has a tracker on him. Gonky is a nickname for a Gonk droid. This means that the team can track him, and they can find him. They do just that and they find him. They use the speeder to get to the place where he is and their ship.
They find the kid and that kid lets them know that he was only doing his job. He must answer this overlord. This guy named Mokko acts like an overlord. This means he uses these kids to get what he wants and makes sure they must fight for rations. This means they are not getting enough food. They are getting the scraps while this guy gets the spoils. This means he is making out like a bandit. These kids are getting peanuts while he is getting the best food and the best clothes.
The kid will take the Bad Batch along with Omega to their ship. The ship’s hyperdrive has been removed, but Tech knows that he can get it back in and get the ship operational. The team does that. Omega goes with the kid to make sure he gets them code to open the hanger hatch, so they can fly the Marder out of the hanger.
Omega later finds out that this guy has been hiding something from them. The mineral known as Episyeum is not degraded as this guy claims it is. She shows him that this guy has been lying to them to justify these kids' getting rations while he gets the spoils. This guy named Mokko has been enriching himself while keeping these kids as servants.
As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this episode and set up episode 11 of this season.
I will give you, my rating. I give Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Episode 10, a 10 out 10. It was fun but shows how individuals who want more will twist the truth just to keep their wealth and power. It does an excellent job of showing how these kids are being used just to make this guy more money. This guy is an overlord, and these kids are his servants as was connected to the Middle Ages. Overlords were common during that period. Overlords would oversee the land and the peasants or serfs would serve these people and must pay off their debt by working the land. Most of them could never pay them off. It is a vicious cycle where the peasants are being used by these overlords and these overlords make more money. As I told you in the previous reviews, Greed is the worst sin, and these overlords or people even now in today’s times do not care who they hurt if they can make more money. This is also common to indentured servants who were being used and they were not paid and those that had them made a profit.
